As the exclusive supplier of LED screens for the entire event and the stage lighting at the two main venues; Barangaroo and Randwick Bytecraft Entertainment was proudly involved with World Youth Day (WYD) 2008.
WYD held in July 2008 was the largest youth event in the world and the largest event Australia has ever hosted. It attracted over 125,000 international visitors - more than the 2000 Olympics. It also marked the first visit of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI to Australia.
Bytecraft Entertainment supplied 48 LED screens that were scattered across the City of Sydney on custom made barges, containers, trailers and truss structures before moving into Randwick for the overnight vigil and mass attended to by over 400,000 people.
Bytecraft Entertainment also supplied all of the lighting and special effects for the two main sites – including the Opening Mass, Stations of the Cross and youth concerts held at Barangaroo followed by the celebrations at Randwick.
